In-House X-Rays in Foster City, CA
Integral Chiropractic takes and reviews X-rays right in our Foster City office, so you can be imaged and get answers in the same visit. There’s no separate imaging appointment and no waiting days for results. When your history or exam calls for it, X-rays help us see what’s going on, rule out problems, and build a care plan that fits you.
Why X-rays matter in chiropractic care
An exam tells us a lot about how you move and where it hurts. X-rays add a view of the bones and joints themselves: alignment, joint spacing, degeneration, and signs of injury. That helps us choose the right treatment, adjust techniques for your spine, and spot anything that needs a referral rather than chiropractic care.
What we do:
- Decide if you need them: X-rays are taken only when your history, symptoms, or exam suggest they’ll change your care.
- Same-visit imaging: Taken in our office, usually in just a few minutes.
- Review with you: We show you your images and explain what we see in plain language.
- Build your plan: Findings feed directly into your treatment plan.
- Refer when needed: If images show something outside our scope, we’ll refer you to the right specialist.
When X-rays may be recommended:
- Recent fall, car accident, or sports injury
- Long-standing back or neck pain that hasn’t improved
- Suspected arthritis or joint degeneration
- Scoliosis or significant posture changes
- Pain with numbness, tingling, or weakness
- Patients over 50 with new back pain
How we're different:
- Same-day answers: Imaging and review happen in the same visit.
- No extra trip: No separate radiology appointment.
- We only X-ray when it’s useful: Not every patient needs images.
- You see your images: We walk you through what they show.

Frequently asked questions
Do all new patients need X-rays?
No. We recommend X-rays only when your history or exam suggests they’ll help guide your care.
Are X-rays safe?
Modern X-rays use a low dose of radiation. We take only the views needed for your care.
Can I get X-rays if I'm pregnant?
X-rays are generally avoided during pregnancy. Tell us if you are or might be pregnant.
I already have X-rays or an MRI from another provider. Can I bring them?
Yes. Bring the images or report to your first visit, and we’ll review them so you may not need new ones.
Can you see soft tissue injuries on an X-ray?
X-rays show bones and joints well but not muscles, ligaments, or discs. If we suspect a soft tissue injury that needs imaging, we’ll refer you for an MRI or ultrasound.
